Haband was founded in 1925 by M. Habernickel Jr. and John A. Anderson, with our name born from the combination of our founders’ surnames. What began as a door-to-door necktie business in New Jersey has grown into a comprehensive retail brand offering quality clothing for men and women, footwear, and select home goods.
Throughout the mid-20th century, we pioneered the mail-order catalog model, using direct mail advertising to build lasting relationships with customers across America. This innovative approach allowed us to bring quality, affordable clothing directly to doorsteps nationwide.
